Amelia LaMar is a versatile mixed media artist whose creative journey spans a wide range of mediums; including painting, clay, clothing design mixed media and photography. Her artistic path began at the age of 18 when her mother gifted her a set of old paints, creating a lifelong passion for the arts. Currently she is exploring wearable art through the mediums of porcelain by creating one of-a-kind jewelry pieces that are each- “tiny paintings” and through clothing where she applies her hand drawn designs.
While Amelia explores many forms of artistic
expression, painting is always somewhere in the background.
She works predominantly with acrylics, drawn to the vibrancy
of bold colors that capture energy and emotion.
Her creative process is both fluid and intuitive;
while some pieces start with a
clear vision, many evolve organically
as she engages with the materials.
Each work is an exploration of texture and surface, from the
tactile drag of a brush across canvas to the way paint stains wood, or
how plaster absorbs color like a desert floor. Amelia’s
artistic practice also extends to teaching and creating
live art, where she shares her passion for creativity and the discovery process with others. For her, the joy lies in experimentation—the constant interaction between material and idea—and the magic of bringing new visions to life.
